10 Tips on how we can be happier

In this life of up’s and down’s, being happy requires deliberate action. Everybody deserves to be happy, but the reality is that only a few people are happy. In this piece, I will be discussing tips on how we can be happier.

1. Discover who you are

The very core source of happiness is from within. Hence, you must discover what brings you joy. Everybody has those unique objects of happiness. You may need to list them and stick to them. Yours may be to watch a football match or coming up with a new recipe for your family. There is that thing that certainly makes you happy; you ‘ve got to find them out from within.

2. Be with others who make you smile.
Life is too short for us to be surrounded by people who give us heartache. Build a network of people who make you happy. That can be a group of friends. In fact, you are most lucky if you can find happiness in the circle of your family members.

3. Hold on to your values
Never compromise your value. Because nothing hurts than by seeing the effect of our compromise of our values. On the other hand, if we stick to our values, we will be the happiest person on earth. Your core value may be integrity; you must hold on to it irrespective of the opposition. Because failure to do that will haunt you. And consequently, you will be unhappy. Hold on to your values.

4. Accept the good.
There are many things that are way beyond our reach in life. Some situations are just meant to go wrong notwithstanding our effort. Often, we are hurt and unhappy when things don’t go our way. But for us to be happy we need to accept the good and resolve not to bog our head with what we can’t change. This is the only way we can stay happy in life.

5. Eat light and right
Watch your diet and stay with healthy nutrition. This will definitely affect your shape and physical structure. Consequently, when you stay with right nutrition, you will be happy with yourself.

6. Do things you love
We find joy in activity we engage in. Do not just pick up an employment for the sake of it. Resolve to do only those things that make you happy. Because, at the end of the day, what really counts is not the volume of what we do, but the happiness we derive from what we do that matters.

7. Find purpose.
Life is all about contribution. Your purpose is that very contribution to humanity. Believe me, people that live in purpose, live in fullness of joy. The joy contributing their part to humanity is unspeakable!

8. Listen to your heart.
The moment we disobey our hearts; we lose our peace. Hence, we are troubled. So in order to stay happy, listen to your heart.

9. Push yourself, not others.
There are few we can change about people. Don’t even think of changing anyone. The best you can do is to change yourself, and you will be amazed at the happiness that can bring you.

10. Imagine the best.
Be positive about everything. Imagine the best out of every situation. Thereby you will be the happiest person all day. And I would like to end with the proverb of A.Einstein: ” Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”
